We are a local shop and we want you to enjoy what you buy from us — safely. This is how we serve alcohol, and why.

Our commitment

How we serve at Cellar’s Land

  • We check ID

    Anyone who looks under 25 will be asked for photo ID before we serve them. No ID, no sale — even if you are buying for someone else.

  • We refuse service to intoxicated people

    It is against the law for us to sell alcohol to anyone who is intoxicated, and we will not do it. We may also refuse service to anyone showing signs of intoxication.

  • No buying for under-18s

    Buying alcohol for someone under 18 (secondary supply) is an offence. If we believe a purchase is for a minor, we will refuse the sale.

  • Trained staff

    Everyone who serves at Cellar's Land holds a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, as Victorian law requires.

Proof of age

ID we accept

It must be current, show your photo and date of birth, and belong to you. We cannot accept student cards, bank cards, photocopies or photos of ID.

  • Australian driver licence or learner permit — card or digital (Service Victoria app)
  • Australian or foreign passport
  • Proof of age card, such as a Victorian Proof of Age Card or Keypass

The law in Victoria

Warning: Under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 it is an offence to supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years (penalty exceeds $23,000), or for a person under 18 years to purchase or receive liquor (penalty exceeds $900).

It is also an offence to supply liquor to a person who is intoxicated, and for an intoxicated person to be on licensed premises. Staff may refuse service at their discretion.
